Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for consideration, candidates must meet at least one of the following minimum qualification criteria of 50% or higher aggregate marks achieved in one of the following Educational Pathways:

1/ Completion of a School Education Board recognised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India (10+2) with Physics and Mathematics.

2/ A three-year Engineering Diploma from a Government recognised, accredited Polytechnic Institute in the following areas: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Information Technology, Instrumentation Technology.

3/ Completion of a two-year Vocational Course from any recognised Education Board with Physics and Mathematics as non-vocation.

Batch-Specific Age Requirements

The date ranges for Agniveer candidate eligibility are as follows:

1/ Agniveer 01/2027 Batch individuals can only apply if they are born between 1 Dec., 2004 and 31 May, 2009 (inclusive).

2/ Agniveer 02/2027 Batch individuals can only apply if they were born between 1 May, 2005 and 31 Oct., 2009 (inclusive).

General eligibility for INET 2026 application is defined as being born on or between 1 Dec., 2004 and 31 Oct., 2009. Eligibility specific to Stage II will be determined independently and should be based upon the appropriate batch age requirements.

Should be unmarried Indian male or female.

Selection Process

Stage-I: INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test)

This is CBT exam scheduled on May 2026. This is qualifying exam for stage 2. Cuttoff marks will differ state by state.

Exam will be of 10+2 level containing English, Science, General Awarness and Mathematics. It will be of 1 hour exam containing 100 mcqs of total 100 marks.

Stage-II: PFT, Written Exam, and Recruitment Medical

Stage 2 contains of physical test. 1.6 km in 6:30 min and 8 min , 20 and 15 sqats, 15 and 10 pushups for male and female respectively. It also has written test similar to stage 1. then medical fitness check.

Stage-III: Pre-Enrolment Medical at INS Chilka

All selected candidates will undergo pre-enrolment medical formalities at INS Chilka, Odisha. Candidates who do not qualify the pre-enrolment medical will be rejected. Training for Batch 01/2027 is expected to start in December 2026 and for Batch 02/2027 in May 2027.

Detailed Notification

Minimum Height: 157 cm for both male and female candidates. Height relaxation details are available on the official website.

Visual Standards: Uncorrected vision should be 6/12 in both eyes, correctable to 6/6. Candidates must pass the colour perception test.

Tattoos: Permanent tattoos are only allowed on the inner face of forearms (from inside of elbow to the wrist) and on the back (dorsal) side of the hand. Tattoos on any other body part will lead to disqualification.

On completing the four-year engagement, Agniveers will receive a one-time Seva Nidhi package. Each month, 30% of the salary goes into the Agniveer Corpus Fund, and the Government of India contributes an equal amount. The total corpus fund at the end of four years comes to approximately ₹10.04 Lakh (₹5.02 Lakh from the Agniveer’s contribution + ₹5.02 Lakh from the Government).
